Top 5 Stain Resistant Upholstery Fabrics

Updated: Oct 9, 2019

Your ultimate guide to easily cleanable fabrics for your sofa or dining chairs.

The benefits of having a stain resistant fabric on your upholstered furniture are obvious. These hi-tech textiles do not absorb stains and spills and as a result are easier to clean and they last longer. Such fabrics are impervious to accidental spillages by red wine, oils, and other everyday liquids. Instead of being immediately absorbed, they are easily wiped off with a dry or damp cloth. This feature makes them especially friendly for heavy use family room sofas, dining and kitchen chairs or for commercial upholstery in restaurants, bars, child or aged care facilities and hotels.

So without further ado, here are the top 5 stain resistant upholstery fabrics, all available through New Image Upholstery:

1. FibreGuard

Zepel fabrics offer a large range of upholstery fabrics treated with FibreGuard technology which makes them both stain resistant and durable.

2. Sunbrella

Sunbrella upholstery fabrics are synonymous to high durability and performance both for indoor and outdoor uses.

3. Crypton

Crypton was originally developed for commercial use in the high demanding hospital and health care environments. It has since evolved to include soft textures to be suitable also for home use.

Most of the fabrics by US brand Robert Allen are treated with Crypton Home application which delivers soft textures ideal for sofas. Other brands we carry using Crypton technology include Instyle (with several ranges to choose from) and Wortley Crypton commercial range with over 500 plains and patterns.

4. Easy Clean

Villa Nova recently released the Easy Clean range of durable stain resistant fabrics. This range includes Calvia weaves, Atil velvets, and Atlantis chenilles. They are all hard wearing boasting a performance grade making them also suitable for commercial upholstery. They can be easily cleaned by wiping off most stains with a wet cloth, without the need of any chemicals.

5. Halo

Warwick fabrics have every reason to boast about their hugely successful Halo range with over a thousand stain-resistant fabric choices at different price points.
